Hello, mate!

Emphasis on the hell. Why your ask? Great question. I am currently in the second half of Hell week. That’s right. That’s the colloquial running name we’ve given to our Uni exams week.

It’s a fitting name. We were submitting projects and movies the week before. Lined up smack behind that were our Sem 1 tests. And I took em way to lightly. I picked up the book for every exam the night before. Which was very unlike me. My bed time this week has been 4/5 am. It’s been hell.

Now granted, I woke up at 11am but that won’t make my point any stronger. It’s just that the exam times have been 3-6, and exams everyday with no holiday in between. So you can’t nap in the middle of the day. Also studying has changed for me, I care less now. Still care a lot compared to most people, but a lot less than before.

Adding up the consecutive all nighters from last week to my broken sleep schedule this week; I’ve been calling November #NoSleepNovember. Yeah.

Cheerio!

Tis, mate was the Weekly Email Blast, Email 140. Woohoo. Happy weekend !!!

Aloha, matey!

I’m not in Hawaii. I’m in purgatory, and denial.

Purgatory because my Uni sem 1 exams begin Monday, denial because I simply haven’t bothered to study yet and it’s worrying. Really, I’m worried I’m not worried enough about my tests.

This last week was a an absolute roller coaster. I didn’t sleep Saturday and Sunday nights, I was busy editing. No sleep for over 48 hours. I submitted my movies, slept for a couple days. Then I had my economics presentation yesterday, which went well. I had to create a mock dog salon startup. That’s right, to pitch its economics much like a pitch on Shark Tank. I went all out, it was cool.

Today I went for our school sports’ day. I ran into some batchmates, we were the oldest set of ex students there. We’re aging, mates. But today, my brother won some gold for once, it was great, I was happy.

I’m linking my college ECS movie here. So far, people have liked it. We still have to fix audio a bit before publishing it; but here you go!

Enjoy, cheerio!

Click Tap Click, mate!

That’s what you did to open this email. And that’s what I’ve been doing this entire week. Why you ask? Well, I’ve been editing.

I have two movie submissions this weekend: ECS tomorrow, for which we made a light less pretentious movie; and socio on Sunday, for which I’ve made a documentary about bodybuilders. Guess who’s editing both.

Editing is far from easy, there’s so many things you have to take care of, and video editing software were made to be difficult to understand.

Here I have to give a shout out to my laptops. My 5 year old Dell, even though old handled stuff like a champ. And my new MacBook Pro with the touch bar, the heir apparent and my new workstation.

The MacBook Pro was my very late 18th birthday gift, I never mentioned that on the WEB. It has the lovely touch bar and is powerful enough to handle 4K video like it was nothing. So shout out to my Dell for always being there for me, and to my parents for getting me a very nice laptop.

I’m gonna stop here now, I still have to color correct and put subtitles on my ECS movie. Back to click-tap-clicking.

Welcome to the future, matey!

Think about that sentence for a moment. Think about time. Are we living in the future? Why is time so weird?

That’s what I feel every November. The second last month of the year rolls around and suddenly it feels like the first 10 months just flew by. My annual end of the year temporal crisis. It’s weird. But it’s the future.

Speaking of the weird future, iPhone X is here. It’s pretty, has great cameras and solid reviews. And since my phone needs an upgrade, the X just might be it. My trusty iPhone 6 runs just fine but it’s almost three years old (I got it the same week as WEB #1 so, yeah).

Now for the spooky past. This past Tuesday was Halloween. I went to my first ever Halloween party. The party was meh like most other parties but the costumes made it a little more interesting. Most costumes were bad. Mine was not. I went as the Undertaker. My beard, long hair and poker face helped me nail the part. It was fun.

Cheerio!

You have one new email.

This message has no content.

Haha, gotcha. Or didn’t gotcha. I’m past the most difficult part of my email. Yes, Introductions are the most difficult part of an email.

This week was very chill, I had economics lectures and the rest of the day I did nothing. Eco in sem 1 of BMM sees the more KTs than any other subject. To prevent more FYs failing, they’ve been extra cautious with our batch.

I don’t remember most of what else happened this week, it was very uneventful, which was a relief. After weeks of days packed with college stuff and a packed week of Diwali, a chill week was welcome.

A relatively free week gave me time to read, watch some movies, some YouTube, play some video games (after weeks of no video games). TL;DR, I chilled. I watched the Internship, Friends with benefits and Groundhog Day which are all lovely movies.

My Diwali break resumes tomorrow, till 9th November. More chill. I’ll be editing two movies and completing a project, but yeah, I’ll be on vacation.

Cheerio!

Happy New Year, mate!

Alleged new year. Regardless, happy Diwali mate, happy holidays. It’s the most wonderful time of the year after Christmas. You get to shop, eat lovely food, get gifts and travel.

It has been a very active week. Which is transferred epithet. I’ve been very active this week. I had college till Monday, followed by some redecorating to make home a little festive on Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday I shot for my ECS movie for 8 hours. Of the hour or so of video we actually shot, about 10 minutes was useful content. Making a movie is insane.

There’s so many little things you have to take care of, camera angles, ambient noise, lights and shadows, continuity in the story. The script becomes a seemingly tiny part of it. We did have a lot of fun, we got a ton of bloopers. The blooper reel is gonna be a lot better than the actual movie.

I wore a kurta for our movie, before which I went kurta shopping and bought a few. Guess what, I absolutely love kurtas. I’m gonna buy more and make ’em a part of my daily wardrobe soon. They’ll also hide the weight I’m gonna put on from eating all the Diwali mithai.

Cheerio!

*Casper voice* “Hello!”

That greeting may or may not be because today is Friday the thirteenth. Friday the 13th, so spooky, so meh.

Today was my first day off from college in a month, I did nothing all day. It was lovely. I was supposed to clean my room but I’ll do that on my own terms, not because Ram returns from Lanka after killing Raavan.

This week had a highlight; I donated blood on Tuesday. They took about half a liter of my blood, it was instant weight loss. I hope they use it save lives and not as a Halloween prop.

The rest of the week was pretty ok, we had the last of this semester’s lectures, the last one happens tomorrow after which we descend into vacation nothingness. I’m supposed to travel to Turkey in two weeks but my visa interview hasn’t happened yet so fingers crossed.          I’ll spend the remaining bulk of my Diwali break shooting and editing my two movie projects. The topic for my sociology documentary is fanatics, which I guess will be fun to make.

Hola, matey!

I’m gonna skip the introduction part now. It’s been 133 weeks, I’m sure you get it.

This week was great, mostly because I got an extension on both my ECS and socio short movies. That took the stress right off the week. Now we’ll wait till right before the next deadline to make it.

The bollywood movie I watched this week was Dil Chahta Hai. I hadn’t seen it before, and I have to say, the songs in that movie are lovely.

I watch movies on the train while going to college. Prime has the best sitcoms, movies but more importantly it now has the great 90s Cartoon Network shows, like Dexter’s Lab, Johnny Bravo, and the Tintin animated show.

In case you’re wondering, no, this email was not sponsored by Amazon.

Which reminds me, google’s new phones look like turds.

Tomorrow I’ve to go to a party. It’s at a club, so it’ll likely be bad. I hate clubs and also hate people who enjoy clubs. You know how I keep saying don’t always say no, that doesn’t apply here. Doesn’t work either.

Cheerio!

Namaste, matey!

In the spirit of festivities, namaste. The last week of September has been very eventful. But I say that about most weeks. You decide if it was eventful or not.

Twitter doubled its character limit to 280 characters for a group of testers, and I have opinions. It’s terrible. I can’t think of a worst decision. Letting Hitler invade Poland was a better decision than this one.

On Wednesday I watched Main Hoon na, which was nice. It was a proper masala Bollywood movie. I liked the Kishore Kumar songs peppered through the movie. One of the Kishore Kumar songs is stuck in my head, a testimony to my oldness.

In contrast to that, I watched Young Sheldon on Prime today. (I love Prime video, Netflix can suck it). Young sheldon was bad, they’re continuing the tradition they have going on with new Big Bang theory.

Season 11 of which I’ll watch tonight. It’ll likely be garbage.

But at least we have a long weekend to look forward to.

Cheerio!

Fist bump, mate.

I literally couldn’t think of anything else.

And considering today was a 15 hour workday, I’m not surprised. I had two 3 hour lectures, a meeting and six hours of shooting a movie today. Not even my movie, I’m the antagonist in a movie made by TY students. Acting is weird.

This week was very deja vu; it rained a lot on Tuesday so Wednesday was declared a holiday. But at least it rained on Wednesday so the holiday didn’t go waste. This time too I was home, away from any interesting story I could write here.

Speaking of story, my project group has settled on a genre for our movie: comedy. It’s something I like, also easier to shoot, produce and edit. We begin writing tomorrow, so at least we’ve gotten somewhere.

Good night, cheerio!
