Press Release

A year’s wait and a yearbook

Hello mate,

If you’ve been around a calendar anytime recently you might have noticed that a year has gone by since our last day of college. That day also happened to be the day we shot our yearbook portraits. People have made a hobby out of asking me about the yearbook, so here is an update.

About that yearbook:

The yearbook is good to go, it’s ready and on my laptop. It hasn’t been printed yet, and I don’t intend to do that now for the following reasons:

1. The whole point of a yearbook is for other people to write in it, so handing out empty yearbooks will defeat the purpose of it.

2. There’s no use printing the yearbooks if most people won’t collect them now. Sending them via post won’t be feasible, so why print them and leave them lying in storage.

3. There is still a sliver of a chance we will have a proper convocation, probably in the latter half of 2021. College hasn’t confirmed anything yet, but whenever they give us our actual degrees will be the right time for a yearbook.

So yes, the Batch of 2020 will get a yearbook, a spanking gorgeous one, but I’m hoping it’s around when the batch reconvenes for our convocation. Stand by till then.

I hope you are alive, well, and employed. Cheerio.

Love,

Sam.
