Namaste, matey!

In the spirit of festivities, namaste. The last week of September has been very eventful. But I say that about most weeks. You decide if it was eventful or not.

Twitter doubled its character limit to 280 characters for a group of testers, and I have opinions. It’s terrible. I can’t think of a worst decision. Letting Hitler invade Poland was a better decision than this one.

On Wednesday I watched Main Hoon na, which was nice. It was a proper masala Bollywood movie. I liked the Kishore Kumar songs peppered through the movie. One of the Kishore Kumar songs is stuck in my head, a testimony to my oldness.

In contrast to that, I watched Young Sheldon on Prime today. (I love Prime video, Netflix can suck it). Young sheldon was bad, they’re continuing the tradition they have going on with new Big Bang theory.

Season 11 of which I’ll watch tonight. It’ll likely be garbage.

But at least we have a long weekend to look forward to.

Cheerio!

Fist bump, mate.

I literally couldn’t think of anything else.

And considering today was a 15 hour workday, I’m not surprised. I had two 3 hour lectures, a meeting and six hours of shooting a movie today. Not even my movie, I’m the antagonist in a movie made by TY students. Acting is weird.

This week was very deja vu; it rained a lot on Tuesday so Wednesday was declared a holiday. But at least it rained on Wednesday so the holiday didn’t go waste. This time too I was home, away from any interesting story I could write here.

Speaking of story, my project group has settled on a genre for our movie: comedy. It’s something I like, also easier to shoot, produce and edit. We begin writing tomorrow, so at least we’ve gotten somewhere.

Good night, cheerio!

Morning, mate!

I think it’s plenty obvious why I said morning. I had another one of those naps that cause temporary memory loss. I write this as I watch Veep, waiting for my coffee to kick in.

The most important thing this week definitely was the Apple keynote. We got iPhone X, which is one beautiful overpriced slab of glass. Oh and it looks so pretty. We also got the new Apple watch and TV but I don’t care about those. I care about the new iPhone. It’s the best. Did I mention that it’s pretty?

And in what has become tradition now, Apple was graceful enough to mention me in the keynote.

In other news today I got another project for college. It’s sociology and I’ve to make a documentary about any subculture in India. I’m already bored. Plus I haven’t started with my ECS short film yet so it’s gonna be two creatively hectic weeks for me now.

Tomorrow is my first video editing lecture and I’m excited. Also It was one heck of a movie.

Cheerio!

Another week, another email.

That’s the motto on my side of the internet. It’s very nice here. My side of the internet is full of comics and memes and news. You should visit sometime.

Last two days I’ve been learning about news. It’s more interesting than it sounds. Eh maybe not. But the lectures are like one giant interesting conversation, which is how all lectures should be.

On Wednesday morning I was in a clean up drive at Girgaon Chowpatty. It was horrible. It was a CSR activity part of my college BMM fest and it was dreadful.

Sure, I got to see massive Ganesh idols but the rest was hell. There was so much trash. I found 70 bottles of liquor strewn across the beach. To be honest, I was looking for bottles specifically as they were the easiest to pick up.

Tomorrow I go for IT, the first horror movie I’ll watch on a big screen. I don’t watch a lot of horror movies. For the simple reason that I scare easy, which is ironic considering I love paranormal stuff.

~Boo~!

Ahoy, mate!

Never gets old, does it?

This ahoy is organic, citing that on Tuesday the city was a sea and we were sailors. My lecture on Tuesday was cancelled beforehand so I was home, dry and without any interesting ‘deluge’ story.

Tuesday was bad for many people, including many of my classmates. But we got a holiday out of it the next day so we’ll call it even. Other than that the week was very meh.

A meh week gave me time to pick a book, and watch some movies. The Interview is hilarious btw. Also Atomic blonde is very good. The new Taylor Swift song is not that good but stuck in my head nevertheless.

That’s all I can think of right now.

Sorry.

I’m on vacation !

I’ve never been so excited to be on one. Life itself was very leisurely. But then BMM happened, and with that time for leisure went to hell. Now that I’m busy, a break actually feels like a break. And it feels damn nice.

I’m at Lavasa for the weekend, it’s pouring here and it’s awesome. The last two weeks I’ve had very little free time, I’ve averaged around 6 hours of sleep a day (without naps). And had very little time for Twitter and TV. I haven’t read or book or gotten any exercise in a month.

I have been making stuff on adobe illustrator, it’s complicated but when it works it’s like witchcraft. I made stuff for my college economics festival.

Now I have three days to chill. I need to. Too much whatsapp is making me social, and stupid. I’m also looking for ~inspiration~ for my ECS project. I need to make a 5-7 minute short film for my sem 1 internals.

If you have an idea, lemme know!

Happy Ganesh Chaturthi,

Hola, mate!

Today was one of those rare days off from college. I didn’t do anything today, it felt like summer. I was very productive this entire week, yesterday in particular. So today felt like an off I deserved.

Detour is my college BMM fest, which will happen in December, but for which the launch happened yesterday. It is big deal too, people from 30+ colleges turned up for the launch at a swanky pretentious place yesterday. I worked a lot for the design team for a week, but spent yesterday frisking people. It was weird.

I was moved from on-stage events to security yesterday, because I am ‘tall’ and they ‘really need’ guys for the security team. Which is both height discrimination and sexism if you ask me. I had a position of authority, like a bouncer would.

Although frisking people wasn’t fun, telling people to sod off kinda was. The best part tho was that after my part was done, we could chill, which we did a lot, which was nice.

Chill,

Cheerio.

Yoo-hoo, mate!

This is the 125th WEB I don’t know if that adds any special significance. They’re all very significant if you ask me. Also I just woke up from a long nap so I’m a little fazed.

Taking a long nap in the middle of the day is always a risk because you can’t be sure how long it will last. Waking up after is also weird because the brain reboots the entire day, events of today seem like events of yesterday.

My relationship with naps has changed multiple times through school and college. Till about 9th grade I never took naps, I believed they were for infants and old ladies. Then suddenly in 9th grade I fell in love with naps and have stood by (slept by) them ever since.

I couldn’t remember what I was supposed to talk about today because of the nap so I talked about naps instead. Let that be the legacy of WEB 125.

Yawn.

Happy Independence Day weekend.

Good evening, mate!

Introductions seem futile when you do them 124 times over. But an email wouldn’t be an email without an enforced intro, so there.

This week has been a week of new things and first time experiences. I ~socialized~ at a bar from Tuesday to Wednesday. Quite literally. My classmates thought I’d be more fun when intoxicated. They were wrong. While I did not enjoy the alcohol I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy the evening.

I do not get what purpose alcohol serves or how people enjoy it. A lot of my classmates do, so I guess I’ll be the designated driver if I choose to do this again (I won’t). Also I realized a couple things about me. I’m very cautious, aware and responsible about things around me all the time. I don’t ever ‘let go’, I’m not ~fun!~ by most millennial standards.

Other than that, I’ve signed up to work for two college ‘fests’, mostly design, tech and content stuff to keep me busy in ways convenient to me. Also Dunkirk is a very good movie.

Cheerio!

Howdy do, mate?

I’ll tell you how I do. I do busy. I have never had so much stuff to do. I haven’t had time to read a book or a magazine. But I do have the time to write this email. I always have time for emails. This has been another ~happening~ week for me. The people I saw/met this week include Anil Kapoor, Illeana D’Cruz, Rakesh Bedi and several cinematographers. Rakesh Bedi is a fun person. Two of the cinematographers happened to be on the censor board and they were more than happy to share the dirt about how the CBFC goes about it’s job.

I really enjoyed meeting and talking to cinematographers. Most media we look at is the end product, it was nice to learn what goes on behind the camera that shoots it all.

Outside of college, Homecoming and Jagga Jasoos were good movies but I didn’t enjoy homecoming that much for some reason. I haven’t had the time (or the motivation) to return to the training centre. But I’ll try to return tomorrow, I have an early lecture.

[If you think these have gotten boring lately, a) you’re wrong & b) blame college]         Cheerio!
